A Story of Musical Spirit
Canyon Regiment is Canyon High School’s marching band and consists of woodwind, brass, and percussion musicians as well as members of the color guard. Each year, the Canyon Regiment develops a fall production and performs at home football games, pep rallies, field show competitions, and various community events.
The award winning marching band is trained by a world class coaching staff whose mission is to provide students with first-rate training in a collaborative learning community. Canyon Regiment offers students not only outstanding musical and performance-based instruction, but also provides opportunities for students to develop and strengthen their leadership skills, self-confidence, and an appreciation for a healthy arts community.
Through the commitment and partnership between students, coaching staff, parents, and school administration, the Canyon Regiment continues grow both in our success and outreach to the community.

Canyon Percussion is comprised of members of the drumline and front ensemble in the Canyon Regiment. Each year, Canyon Percussion participates within the marching band in the fall and then programs a spring production where they compete in the Southern California Percussion Alliance winter drumline circuit.
This ensemble meets as a class during the school day, but also rehearses twice a week after school both in the fall and the spring. During the first semester they perform at all Canyon Regiment events and in the second semester, they perform at various winter drumline competitions throughout the Southern California Region.
The award winning drumline and front ensemble has received numerous accolades and awards including medaling at SPCA Finals in the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

The Canyon HS Orchestra is a music performance ensemble for students who wish to continue their study of music through the String Orchestra medium. The ensemble is devoted to the preparation and performance of the richest and most varied traditional and contemporary music written for string orchestra. This ensemble is a listening-focused, process-oriented group that provides opportunities for students to gain interactive musical skills in various large ensemble settings. It also includes a continued study of theory concepts and knowledge of musical symbols and terminology. Also included is the study of tone production, posture, hand position and bowing techniques. Performances include a Fall Concert, Promotional Concerts, the Winter Concert, Festivals, Spring Concert and the Pops Concert.
Canyon Color Guard is comprised of members who spin flag, rifle, and saber in the Canyon Regiment. Each year, Canyon Color Guard performs within the marching band in the fall and then programs a spring production where they compete in the Winter Guard Association of Southern California competitive circuit.

The Canyon Band is an ensemble class open to students with prior musical experience on woodwind and brass instruments. Students in this class will begin the year covering topics of basic music theory and progress into its performance application on their applied instrument. They will learn Wind Ensemble and Orchestral repertoire ranging from advanced High School to University Level as well the Fall Marching Band Field Show music. Performances include all Canyon Regiment performances, a Fall Concert, Promotional Concerts, Holiday Concert, Festivals, Spring Concert and the Pops Concert.
